I stayed in my boss's house during a business visit to Athens in April. I soon discovered that he is very interested in GeoCaching, and since he has a 4x4 Jeep, I suggested that we go "hunting" for Mont Parnes 1 the coming Saturday. This cache is hidden in the mountains just outside of Athens and it took us a while and a few detours to find the correct road, but in the end it was totally worth it! We drove up to a few hundred meters from the cache after which we had to climb a steep hill to reach the cache. The cache itself was quite easily found. On the way back, we stopped for dinner at the Restaurant Elatos (38° 06.411N 023° 44.169E 249m). Next time, I would also like to try the cable car (for which the entrance to the parking is at 38° 08.228N 023° 44.381E 503m) going up the mountain. What an excellent day it was in such a fantastic environment!

The contents of the cache. We took some tissues and left a keyring from South Africa.
Our complete log-entry:
This is very stunning. We weren't sure if we were on the right path, but we stuck with it and found it at 15:23. Great Experience. Tony SD.
Found this together with Tony, my boss. Fantastic area and drive out here in his Jeep. Thanx! In: South Africa keyring, Out: Tissue albertvanbiljon

From the cache there is a steep drop into the bushes. Fortunately, this isn't the way we needed to go!

The roads are not suitable for a normal vehicle, however, a 4x4 is ideal.
